Are You Coming Alone? The Second Question

As Mother's Day approaches,
The first question a loving mother
Asks her son or daughter
Is that of "Are you coming?"

Hopefully the answer is,
"Yes, Mother, I'll be there."
Which leads to the second question,
"Are you coming alone?"

As much as what mothers
Want to see their own children,
They also want to see the spouses
And their grandchildren.

The continuing generations
Only have signification,
If and when a strong, positive
Relationship continues.

Mother's Day is a day to rejoice
In the reality of renewal
From generation to generation,
But more importantly, love.

"We are all coming,"
Is the response
Mothers everywhere want to hear,
When asking the second question.
