Let Me Pick Your Brain: The Truth Lies Within Your Self

The student rests on his merit, his own;
A truth to him, a professor has shown.
Can't be refuted for truth does not lie.
Somewhere as well, is the answer to why.

Astounded, the student cannot believe
What he has learned. "There's more truth to receive."
But how to harvest this truth, he must learn
What its source is and how he can discern.

Curious too, and with his mind still fraught,
He speaks to the professor, as he ought.
"You are my mentor and truth can't be sealed.
There is greater truth that could be revealed."

Sensing student inquiry, his test,
The professor agrees to do what's best.
"That is not the only truth; there is more.
You hold the key to opening the door."

The student persists, will not be denied,
Wondering if his professor has lied.
"You have truth hidden and will have to show.
Let me pick your brain for what I must know."

"Yes, I will help you. You must pass your course.
Would you believe that I am not the source?"
"I don't understand," said the student, that day.
"Someday you will." The man walked away.

In the next lecture, the one on true self,
The question of truth was back on the shelf.
"You have within you the source of all truth."
Amazed, the student insisted on proof.

"The truth for yourself will soon become clear,
Thus, you must always hold truth to be dear.
When you find truth you will know that it is;
Not only that, you'll know that it is His."

A student seeks higher truth unknowingly.
