Silence Speaks the Mystery of a Rose

Silence speaks the mystery of a rose;
How to interpret silence, no one knows.
A heart unfolding, gently slipped away;
"There were no signs," the final word that day.

"There was no way to tell," there's some who said,
And yet so many signs that could be read.
Oh, how to understand another's tears,
Without the words that express all the fears?

If e'er alert to symptoms, one might find
A way to be compassionate and kind.
The body language often says a lot
That those who comprehend may have been taught.

"There was no way to tell," is an excuse
That often covers neglect or abuse.
The words may not be there, or so it seems,
But life can still be full of hopes and dreams.

The heart of one who's loved does realize
When cared for by a person truly wise.
Awakened to reality and truth,
There are real signs and life is still the proof.

Learning how to understand a person who cannot speak is important.
