Monkey See; Monkey Do: Fiction, Fantasy, Fallacy or Fact?

Everyone wrestles with truth in some way
Whether it's at work, or part of his play.

Monkey see; monkey do, some will suggest,
Is one way we learn, or thus meet the test.

Fiction, fantasy, fallacy or fact,
Determine in some ways, how we will act.

Man evolved from the apes, as Darwin thought,
Or God created him, just as He taught.

One way or the other, man must decide,
Regress to ape-hood, or as man abide.

Fulfill his potential; he must aspire
To reach as he can, higher and higher.

A child sees a parent, who then says 'boo'
Does that mean monkey see and monkey do?

Learning is a process from birth to death;
Distinct learning curve until one's last breath.

Monkey see, monkey do, to imitate
Not a regression to animal fate.

Man, not a monkey, though he acts that way,
While learning something new every day.

Monkey see; monkey do, a game we know;
Perhaps wait and see where it will all go.

Should man's behavior determine, or regress to, his origin?
