Without Us: Life Will Go On Without Us

We can fool ourselves into thinking
That life cannot go on without us.
Life moves on, while we are still blinking
And seems like an ever-moving bus.

Indispensable, or so we feel,
And yet that's not our reality
As layers of time begin to peel
The truth that we may not want to see.

With or without us, life will go on.
It will not be the end of the world
If we're not there some early dawn
When a new flag is being unfurled.

Without us, you will still know our love

As love will be eternally there.
Just reach out to our God up above
And know that He does forever care.

Don't mourn for us when we go away.
Rejoice in that somehow you are blessed.
No one is forever here to stay
Except for God, who has thus confessed,

"I will never leave you or forsake..."
And when we go, it will be to God.
Together, let's good memories make
Until we no longer walk this sod.
